Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust

With no central Government or National Lottery funding, we rely on the local communities throughout Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire to keep this emergency service operational 365 days of the year. We are looking for individuals who like meeting new people, trying new things and want to join a fantastic social network – by volunteering a few hours a week to their local Air Ambulance. We provide training and pay all reasonable expenses, so you will never be out of pocket, and with 200 events attended in Oxfordshire throughout 2011, there will be an event to suit everyone’s tastes.

Without our volunteers, we simply couldn’t do what we do. For more information about TVACAA please visit www.tvacaa.org

Local people will have seen this helicopter in our area many times. It is operated out of RAF Benson.

It is a very fast machine which can be here in about 5 minutes and can take a patient directly to the nearest suitable hospital within minutes.

As this service is not funded by the NHS much of it's money has to come from fund raising activities which are carried out by a band of volunteers. The continuation and development of this service is becoming increasingly more vital to rural communities in an emergency especially when traffic congestion may prevent a land ambulance attending soon enough.

One of the fundraising activities is their weekly lottery. Details of this and other information regarding this service can be found on their website at www.tvacaa.org  or call 01628 511691

Old printer toner and ink cartridges and old mobile phones are also needed as a means of raising money. These can be handed in at Nettlebed Post Office.

Don't forget to give your POST CODE if you ever need to call the ambulance service using 999
They can also use map references to find a location.
